We work closely with farmers and distributors who share our belief that Idaho grows the best beer ingredients in the country.
At Citizen 33 we look at what ingredients do we have locally and what beers can we make with them. This does stylistically limit us and there could be beers we will never make. These sacrifices, however, allows us to make a unique and truly local beer. The βNewspeakβ of local brewing! What we offer is beer that is entirely Idaho. You are drinking Idaho in a glass! The base malt barley is grown and malted in the snake river planes west of our valley near Idaho Falls, ID. Around 5-30% (depends on the recipe) of our grain bill is specialty malt from Weyermann in Bamberg Germany. Weyermann makes the highest quality specialty malts available but currently pursuing ways to find specialty malt within our great state. All the hops we use are grown in western Idaho near Parma, ID. Moving forward we hope to evolve the beer and to continue to seek out the best ingredients grown in Idaho. Adhering to this philosophy will subject our beers to change as we pursue the best beer possible.
